Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW: The MCW non-invasive /clinical cardiologist plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive cardiovascular care to our inpatient services platform. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate physician to join our dynamic and growing cardiology practice in Southeast Wisconsin. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional clinical skills, a commitment to patient-centered care, and a collaborative approach to working with a multidisciplinary team. We are actively recruiting a non-invasive Cardiologist that will have clinical focuses within our Academic Practice at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Froedtert Hospital.
WORK SCHEDULE: Duties include inpatient hospital coverage at Froedtert Hospital. This includes clinical documentation and all other necessary duties.
Your patient care activities will be based at Froedtert Hospital (FH) and will include 24-weeks of inpatient service assignments each calendar year.Opportunities for teaching and research exist.The physician will be expected to participate actively in multi-disciplinary conferences organized by the Division.CALL EXPECTATION:
Weekends and holidays while covering inpatient service.LOCATION(S): Physician's inpatient work location is primarily at Froedtert Hospital.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
CLINICAL:
Examines, diagnoses, and provides a broad scope of treatments for cardiac disease processes.Orders and interprets appropriate laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures.Utilize appropriate risk calculators as a part of assessment for patients and is familiar with new studies, emerging technology, and medications beneficial to the patients being treated.Administers and prescribes medications in compliance with state law and practice guidelines.Orders and performs appropriate medical procedures in accordance with State law and practice guidelines.Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information, documenting clearly and concisely.Triages patient telephone calls, providing consultation as needed.Communicates effectively with colleagues, patients, physicians, staff and administration.Maintains quality of clinical practice by selecting appropriate avenues for professional growth.May perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned.ADMINISTRATIVE
Document all patient care within the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and complete all necessary tasks in compliance with health system policies and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and accurate billing.Be familiar with the MCW organization structure.Participate in F&MCW physician meetings and assist in policy formation for F&MCW and Physician's practice.Keep medical knowledge and skills current through regular CME activity. Must attest to having adequate (CME) to meet maintenance of board certification and compliance with MSO rules and continuing privileges without restriction.Keep all licenses and appropriate certifications current and unrestricted.Maintain active privileges at Froedtert Health System hospitals sufficient to permit performance of job duties.BEHAVIORAL

Graduation from an accredited medical school.Successful completion of an accredited residency program in Cardiology.Successful completion of a fellowship in cardiovascular disease.Successful completion of additional educational programs necessary to enable Physician to acquire and maintain privileges to perform the range of services contemplated. This includes board eligibility/certification in the specialty being practiced.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Wisconsin license as MD/DO.Board certified or eligible in cardiovascular disease to be board certified or qualified to sit for the boards in primary area of practice at the Hospital.
