Registered Dieticians
to plan, organize, and conduct dietetic education for nursing personnel and other personnel, and function as a member of our hospice interdisciplinary team with expertise in nutritional care.
Salary or hourly rate listed is the base for this role; increase commensurate with experience.
Position Overview - Registered Dietician:•Represent Empyrean Hospice with the utmost professionalism and compassion•Develop and implement a nutritional plan of care based on a comprehensive assessment of nutritional needs as part of the patient's total plan of care; provide evaluation and reporting appropriately•Work with the referring physician and interdisciplinary group to provide appropriate counseling to individuals and families/caregivers; provide instruction on nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection, and economics, and adapt plans to the individual's illness, as indicated•Communicate appropriate dietary history and nutritional care data including assessment, treatment plan, progress notes, and discharge summary in the clinical record•Ensure standards of ethical business and clinical practice are prioritized

Position Qualifications•Professionalism, compassion, empathy, and a desire to help others•Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision, yet also as member of a complete interdisciplinary care team•Preferred master's degree from an accredited institution with major in foods, nutrition, or dietetics, and successful completion of an internship or equivalent experience•Requires successful completion of courses in methods and principles of teaching•Requires membership and registration in the American Dietetic Association•Is licensed by appropriate state(s), if applicable•Possesses and maintains current CPR Certification•Understanding of hospice philosophy and issues of food/fluids for terminally ill individuals•Demonstrate good verbal and written communication, and organization skills•Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order•Must possess a willingness to maintain comprehensive working knowledge regarding information systems and applicable software programs
