Health center is seeking a Medical Director and Primary Care Pediatrician. Position will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Health Clinics. The Medical Director works collaboratively with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure that medical services at the clinics are developed and managed in accordance with our mission, strategic direction and business position.
The Medical Director will direct the activities of the medical staff and ensure that services are delivered in accordance with our policies and procedures, New York State regulations and guidelines, and established best practices in school health and adolescent medicine. In conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Director will establish, approve, and implement policies related to providing medical services within clinics.
Job Description:
Direct Patient Care 80%Primary care pediatrics practice at two Utica and Rome locationsProvide coverage of school-based health clinics mid-level practitioners in the event of staff absenceAdministrative Duties 20%Collaborating with the CMO ensures that the Clinics operate effectively and efficiently and that interdisciplinary services become well-integratedHelp to ensure a patient-centric culture in which students in need of service are provided competent, caring and integrated care and where staff feel supported, appreciated, respected and can do their best work, and know how their specific work and the work of others contributes to successEvaluate school health providers performance no less than annually and conduct informal performance evaluation and review of charts on a regular basisIn concert with the CMO, develop and implement changes as needed to existing medical care protocols consistent with established school health medical practice standardsImplement quality assurance mechanisms and monitor the quality of medical care servicesRepresent providers perspectives in the areas of program development, policies and procedures, and staff development and address difficulties that may arise in providers efforts to perform their job responsibilitiesImplement and monitor systems to track the timeliness and communication of all specialty referralsWork collaboratively with the Director of Behavioral Health to optimize the provision of mental health services in the school-based health center
Requirements:
