Description
Position at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists
Radiologist
- Massachusetts/Rhode Island/Southern New England
We have two exciting opportunities for radiologists in beautiful southern New England.
Ocean State Veterinary Specialists (OSVS)
in Rhode Island is seeking a second board certified (or residency-trained) radiologist to join an already busy radiology service. OSVS is a large, 50+ doctor, 26,000 sf hospital, with a current expansion that will add another 10,000sf. There is a full-time radiologist who performs ultrasound examinations, reads all of the radiographs for both of our hospitals, reads CT scans and some MRI scans, runs the radioactive iodine treatment program and reads some radiographs for referring veterinarians via teleradiology. The radiologist also participates in the teaching of interns, residents, and student externs. Diagnostic imaging equipment includes an Aplio 700 ultrasound unit, digital radiography, a 64 slice GE CT scanner, a 1.5 tesla Seimens MRI unit and a fluoroscopy unit. The staff includes specialists in internal medicine, cardiology, critical care, surgery, radiology, ophthalmology, oncology, neurology, and avian/exotics. There are residents in both Emergency/Critical Care as well as Surgery, and a well-established internship program. The emergency service is staffed by over twenty experienced, internship-trained clinicians and the technicians are highly trained in emergency and critical care nursing.
Bay State Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Services (BSVESS)
is currently a small ER/specialty hospital in Swansea, MA - but we are currently renovating a 36,000sf building which should open in the summer of 2024. The current facility offers full time surgery, internal medicine, and emergency services. The plans for the new building include expanding our specialty services to include radiology, oncology, cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, and exotic pet medicine. There will be a linear accelerator and a CT scanner, so medical, surgical, and radiation oncology will be a significant focus of the hospital. This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to join a young team of specialists and ER doctors and help to grow the hospital while being a part of the development of a positive work culture.
Our hospitals have a reputation for high quality medicine and a positive and fun working environment. This position is a unique opportunity for someone who wants the efficiency, independence, and support of a private practice with the teaching opportunities, interaction with multiple specialists, and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic options most typical of a university. We offer a generous compensation package with signing bonus, production-based bonus potential and excellent benefits including a 401K program.
