Aptive Resources is seeking a skilled Psychiatric/Mental Health Registered Nurse. As a Psychiatric/Mental Health Registered Nurse (RN), you will specialize in providing nursing care and support to patients experiencing mental health disorders or psychiatric crises. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, treat, and monitor patients' mental health needs. Your role will involve therapeutic interventions, medication management, and patient education to promote recovery, stability, and overall well-being.Shifts: Nurses assigned can expect to work eight (8), ten (10) or twelve (12)-hour shifts or a combination, with rotating weekends andholidays.Primary Responsibilities Patient Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations, to evaluate patients' mental health needs, symptoms, and risk factors. Formulate nursing diagnoses and collaborate with psychiatrists and psychologists to develop individualized care plans.

Medication Administration and Management: Administer medications as prescribed, monitor therapeutic responses, and assess for potential side effects or adverse reactions. Educate patients and caregivers on medication usage, side effects, and adherence to treatment regimens.

Therapeutic Interventions: Implement therapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapy techniques, behavioral management strategies, and crisis intervention protocols. Foster a therapeutic environment that promotes patient safety, emotional support, and therapeutic communication.

Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and their families on mental health disorders, treatment options, coping mechanisms, and community resources. Provide guidance on lifestyle modifications, stress management techniques, and relapse prevention strategies to support long-term recovery.

Collaborative Care: Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and treatment planning sessions to optimize patient outcomes and continuity of care.

Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, confidentiality guidelines, and organizational policies.

Crisis Management: Assess and manage psychiatric emergencies. Implement de-escalation techniques, initiate crisis interventions, and coordinate referrals to psychiatric emergency services or inpatient care facilities as needed. Minimum Qualifications Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license from any state in the United States.

Certification: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association. Current Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years prior experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit setting

Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE.

Ability to perform under pressure in emergency situations.

Excellent documentation and communication abilities.

Team-oriented with a focus on collaborative patient care.
