to view more details about this job.As a IT Cybersecurity Specialist at the GS-2210-9, you will be part of CIO IT Security Management, Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will perform duties on a team responsible for ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policies and he measurement of cybersecurity performance targets.Provide guidance related to cybersecurity audits and coordination with oversight groups.Review policies and makes recommendations for improvement.Document any gaps, deficiencies, or weaknesses in the cybersecurity program.Participate in the risk governance process to provide security risks, mitigations, and input on other technical risk.Conduct assigned portions of audits of programs and systems.Review and recommend responses to the draft audit report, document findings, observations, and recommendations for improvement.Collect enterprise cybersecurity metrics, documents finding, and presents results in order to comply with federal cybersecurity requirementsRequirementsConditions of EmploymentMust be a U.S. Citizen or NationalMales born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective ServiceSuitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigationMay be required to successfully complete a probationary periodComplete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if requiredThis position is not eligible for inclusion in a bargaining unitQualificationsBasic Requirements:

You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed. Please respond Yes or No if you possess such experience.1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

For the GS9:A. Graduate Education:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading a master's degree or equivalent.ORB. Specialized Experience:

You must have one year (52 Weeks) of specialized experience comparable in cope and responsibility to the GS-7 level (obtained in either the public or private sectors) that is IT-related and included:Assists with identifying vulnerabilities in information systems and actions needed to meet security objectives. AndGathers and organizes background audit information on the cybersecurity risk management program which may include policies, procedures and/or controls. AndUses cybersecurity principles to analyze cyber threats and vulnerabilities based on the requirements of policies, standards, practices and/or guidelines. AndDevelops audit reports of assessment activities for submission to management.You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
