A top government client in Richmond, VA is currently seeking a new Senior Business Systems Analyst to join their growing team. In this role, the Senior Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for playing a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technological solutions, including analyzing complex business processes, requirements elicitation and documentation, internal review of other BSA documentation, and the creation or review of comprehensive meeting minutes during project related meetings.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Business Systems Analyst will:Analyze and evaluate business processesAnalyze business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper systems requirements specificationsConsult with personnel from various departments to identify areas for the development of technical solutions to automate and/or improve business processesCollaborate with stakeholders and improve operational efficiencyBridge communication between business users and IT teams and maintaining ongoing communication with managementMonitor and report on the progress of business initiatives and providing guidance and support to other Business AnalystsPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:
8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with a focus on IT development projects.Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related fieldA proven track record of successfully analyzing and documenting complex business processesA proven experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirementsExperience in creating comprehensive and clear documentationProficiency in Modeling techniques, requirements gathering, and documentationExperience in translating business requirements into detailed system specificationsProficiency in Business Modeling and Analysis tools, such as Microsoft Visio, Lucid Chart, or similarFamiliarity with collaboration tools and Project Management softwareStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organizedDesired Skills:
12+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with a focus on IT development projects.Master's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related fieldOne or more certifications related to business analysis (CBAP, CCBA, etc.)Strong understanding of Software Development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)Experience in reverse engineering Legacy COBOL/Visual Basic/MS Access applications to extract business rules and workflowsAn understanding of Quality Assurance processes and methodologiesFamiliarity with Project Management concepts and practices
