JOB DUTIES:
Outpatient• Treat patients including: pre surgical, post-surgical, orthopedics, sports, pediatrics, neurological, etc. within the standards of outpatient orthopedic scope of practice while promoting clients healthy lifestyle to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination• Diagnose patients and develop a customized treatment plan that meets their needs and goals• Manage full case load up to 4 patients per hour• Implement and adjust patient treatment plans as needed• Teach patients therapeutic exercises and techniques to help improve their condition• Supervise and direct PT trainers throughout the work day to assist in therapeutic exercise instruction and office needs• Complete timely and thorough WEBPT documentation• Provide quality, personalized and evidence-based care and proven interventions• Create fitness- and wellness-oriented programs tailored to patients' specific needs in preparation for discharge
Inpatient• Experienced with transfer techniques, ambulation skills, use of equipment, patient education, and ADL instruction specific to patient diagnosis• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding patient plan of care, equipment needs, and discharge planning• Knowledge in assessing physical, mental, and cognitive disabilities and disposition needs• Document assessments and reassessment utilizing the FIM's criteria• Identify teaching needs and goals of the patient/family related to their diagnosis• Discuss all pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to appropriate staff• Work closely with interdisciplinary team to ensure patients goals are met in the project time frames• Initiate discharge planning, anticipating family/environmental issues and patient needs
EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:• Doctorate of Physical Therapy from accredited program strongly preferred• Must possess a valid and current NJ state license to practice Physical Therapy• BLS-AHA Approved• Proven work experience as a Physical Therapist• Knowledgeable in current treatment practices• Capable of working independently and as part of a team• Excellent interpersonal communication skills• Ability to manage patients of various demographics and age groups• Flexibility to treat both inpatients and outpatients
