Cancer Care Northwest is hiring an Oncology Pharmacist that provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to oncology patients to assure safe and effective drug therapy. Requires independent decision-making, clinical judgment, and an in-depth knowledge of oncology and therapeutics.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Evaluate chemotherapy and infusion treatment plans for accuracy and appropriateness.

Verify medication orders by assessing diagnosis, dosing, drug interactions, allergies, labs, toxicity, and drug-specific monitoring parameters to ensure safe medication administration.

Supervise pharmacy technicians in the preparation of hazardous and non-hazardous sterile products

Recommend therapy modifications to providers as clinically necessary to maximize therapeutic benefits and minimize toxicity.

Participate in developing pharmacist-driven protocols (e.g. carboplatin dosing, dose rounding, etc.)

Serve as a drug information resource to other healthcare professionals, including educating on new therapies.

Product verification of medications dispensed through our specialty pharmacy.

Assist the research department with the review, evaluation, and roll out of new investigational drug trials

Analyze drug shortages and inventory needs.

Develop, review, and assist with implementation of drug protocols and regimen builds.

Maintain compliance with state and federal regulatory bodies as it pertains to physician-based oncology outpatient clinics.

Responsible for professional development, including meeting all requirements for continuing education, keeping abreast of current professional literature, and maintaining a pharmacist licensure in good standing.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job.

Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy

Licensure: Current pharmacist licensure in the State of Washington or ability to obtain prior to start date

Experience: Minimum of two years' experience in pharmacy practice OR completion of a PGY-1 pharmacy residency. At least one year oncology experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

:

Pharmacy Specialty Board Certification (BCOP or BCPS)

PGY-2 in oncology

Experience with Epic EHR

Salary range $134,091 - $187,727
