The Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity (OUR) at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking to fill 2 Program Coordinator positions.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and implementing research programs for undergraduate students in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences and/or the College of General Studies. The incumbent will participate in internal and external outreach efforts, and they will supervise student employees, including Undergraduate Mentors and Forbes & Fifth journal editors. This role will also teach sections of OUR courses. The program coordinator will supplement OUR programs by planning experiences for students to engage with research at Pitt. OUR administers several awards and scholarship programs for which this role will be critical in implementation.
Job SummaryExecutes the daily activities for an assigned program area, section, or special interest group. Manages administrative tasks and logistics. Conceives and implements co-curricular programs to include budgetary preparations and evaluations.
Essential FunctionsMust be able to use a computer and keyboard and be able to use video communication technology (i.e., Zoom, Teams, etc.). Work is frequently conducted by email, telephone, in-person, and/or using video communications technology. The ability to communicate in a clear and concise fashion is essential.
Physical EffortWhile on campus, this position is generally sedentary within an office setting, but the ability to travel around campus occasionally is necessary. Must be able to use a computer and keyboard and be able to use video communication technology (i.e., Zoom, Teams, etc.). Work is frequently conducted by email, telephone, in-person, and/or using video communications technology. The ability to communicate in a clear and concise fashion is essential.
