Job Summary
THE VACANCY:This recruitment is Open and Promotional, meaning that all are welcome to apply and employees in permanent positions are eligible to receive seniority credit and promotional placement once passing all exams.
There are currently several openings for a regular bus driver. These positions work a minimum of 25 hours per week, on a split shift, Monday-Friday, 10 months per year.
This recruitment will also be used to fill substitute assignments (temporary/as-needed basis).
NOTE: If you are a current Substitute and wish to be placed on the eligibility list for a permanent position, you will need to submit your application and participate in the examination process.

BASIC FUNCTION:Under the direction of the Director of Transportation, operate and maintain school buses to transport students safely and efficiently to an assigned location using a designated route; perform regular safety inspections; prepare a variety of records and reports related to assigned activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. Six (6) months of experience as a school bus driver is preferred.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Valid Class A or B California Motor Vehicle Operator's License with passenger transportation endorsement, "S", and air brake endorsementMust have a current DMV printout to be submitted with the job application must be less than 30
