Position Overview

The Director of Human Resources (HR) will manage, coordinate, and evaluate the human resource functions at our facility. This role requires effective collaboration with leadership, staff, and external partners, managing organizational change, shaping workplace culture, and promoting initiatives that engage and retain employees, as indicated by our retention and turnover metrics.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment/Staffing - Ensure sufficient staffing levels and address shortages and turnover with minimal disruption. Recommend qualified and competent individuals for care and treatment roles.Retention - Develop and implement strategies to retain high-quality staff. Notify HR of employee resignations with ample notice for exit interviews and processing. Maintain department turnover at or below the facility's annual target.Performance Management - Assess the qualifications and competence of department personnel who provide services and are not licensed as independent practitioners. Provide continuous feedback and ensure 90-day and annual evaluations are completed on time. Develop, counsel, discipline, and, if necessary, terminate staff in accordance with hospital HR policies. Evaluate staff performance and productivity.Compliance - Ensure timely compliance with staff job requirements, including annual FIT Testing, TB, Flu Vaccination, LMS, licensure, and certifications.Staff Development - Identify and address the educational needs of all staff. Provide training in areas of expertise and seek out appropriate learning experiences for personal development.Conflict Resolution - Facilitate open feedback and communication from staff. Identify potential conflicts and intervene promptly, adhering to policies and procedures and utilizing appropriate resources.

Education/ExperienceBachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.5-7 years of experience in Human Resources is required.At least 3 years of leadership experience in Human Resources is required, with a preference for experience in acute care settings.

CertificationsCertification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) is preferred.
