OverviewWe are looking for an experienced back-end engineer to join the Verkada Core Platform team and work on our Auth Platform. Authentication systems require innovative thinking and creative problem-solving to balance security requirements with usability and performance considerations. Every line of code written contributes to safeguarding sensitive data and enhancing user experiences.
This team builds the platform and shared services that enable Verkada to quickly bring to market a suite of IoT devices and to power Verkada's "operating system for buildings. As a member of the Core team, you will be the architect, designer, and developer in a broad range of projects. You will have the opportunity to work on critical systems that directly impact the security, usability, and reliability of Verkada's products or services.
Engineers on this team work closely with all teams at Verkada, including frontend developers, product managers, security experts, and operations teams to solve problems and drive innovation.
You will:
Define and execute on engineering roadmap to improve Auth API and platformImprove performance and scalability of Auth platform and ensure that our systems scale with the business as we grow and move upmarketPartner with engineering teams at Verkada to address new and existing Auth use casesImprove the user experience by implementing seamless authentication flows- single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA)Ensure that Verkada's authentication systems comply with relevant regulations and standardsWork with high concurrency key-value storage systems (Redis, DynamoDB)Spin up new services in a microservices architectureHelp lead and grow junior engineersEducation and Experience:Degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of studyExperience driving technical direction and leading teams towards project executionStrong written and verbal communication skillsMastery of at least one common server programming language (Python, Go)Experience with relational databases like Postgres, MySQL, etcExperience with distributed systems at scalePerks & Benefits:Generous company paid medical, dental & vision insurance coverageUnlimited paid time off & 11 companywide paid holidaysWellness allowanceCommuter benefitsHealthy lunches and dinners provided dailyGenerous paid parental leave policy & fertility benefitsVerkada Is An Equal Opportunity Employer
