Assist with closely monitoring the District's programs and initiatives that promote and support the education and achievement of English Learners.Assist with the supervision of the District's EL programming to ensure consistency of access and outcomesAssists with Building Master ScheduleAssists teachers with Lesson Planning and Devising SchedulesCoordinates ACCESS for ELL examAdministers the EL Screener exam for all English Learners at the HSAssists with the placement of new EL students at the HSAssists with inputting EL accommodations in the College BoardServes as the EL Liaison on the Testing Coordinating Team to ensure ELs are receiving the allotted accommodationsOversees the NGL sync for all ELL studentsProvides training for the Elevation PlatformProvides multiple layers of support to onboarding VIT Teachers and current EL staffProvide Professional Development to staff based on the needs assessment at the secondary level.Monitors achievement of English Learners on standardized testing and other indicators of successAttends Response to Intervention (RtI) Team and Special Education meetings at the building level, as neededWorks closely with the District's Special Education Department to meet the needs of English Learners with disabilitiesMonitors District programs for Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE), in cooperation with building administrationAssists with the implementation of EL programming in targeted buildingsActively promotes awareness and respect for the needs and contributions of linguistically and culturally diverse students and familiesShares expertise in working with students who receive ELL services with othersAssists in planning and administering staff development activitiesAttend Weekly Grade Level Team Meetings as requested by the teamProvided ongoing support for graduating seniors (post-secondary plans)SUPERVISION AND EVALUATION OF PERSONNEL AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Assist with the development of department policies and make recommendations regarding District policies and negotiated agreementsMonitors staffing ratios and needs continuously and makes recommendations as neededEnsures that all staff is allocated and used effectively and efficiently.Builds relationships with all staff members to promote a team-oriented environment and maintain high standards of accountabilityOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a member of the District Leadership Team and participates in the strategic planning processParticipates in professional growth opportunities (e.g., attends regional, state, and national professional conferences, reads professional publications, and/or enrolls in advanced courses)Performs all other duties necessary to the position and such other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Bilingual Teaching and LearningSupervises: Staff members as assigned
