Participates in preparing basic financial and business-related analysis and reporting. Defines business and legal reporting requirements through research, interpretation of regulations, and business unit requests to meet customer needs.Participates in capturing, developing, and documenting data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements.Participates in collecting and analyzing data for validity and accuracy in preparation of assigned reports and maintaining department databases.Identifies and makes recommendations for resolution of identified issues in data and reporting quality.Utilizes department/company software to prepare basic data queries.Analyzes business intelligence data to inform business and product decisions.Participates in ensuring compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by performing quality data audits and analysis.Develops and maintains knowledge of data sources content and structure to assess the quality of data.Develops understanding of industry products/coverages and applies that knowledge to support business activity.Performs other duties as assigned.Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.Field of Study: Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or related discipline.Experience: Generally, 1 to 3 years of related experience. Developing knowledge in relational database tools (i.e., SQL, Cognos, etc.). Previous experience in the insurance industry preferred. Beginning coursework toward certification in area of expertise preferred; appropriate certifications could include; an Associate Insurance Data Manager (AIDM), or Certificate in General Insurance (INS).Additional Job Functions

Assist in the development of data governance standards for the division, including developing standard definitions, standardizing visualizations and other analytic tools. Also includes monitoring tools to ensure ongoing adherence to governance principles.Assist in developing training for analytics tools developed in the Analytics group. Will provide basic and some more advanced training for end users.Provide support and guidance to end users accessing and using analytics tools.Monitor Tableau performance, resolve performance issues with appropriate support staff.Monitor analytic tool usage and assist in developing and implementing strategies to enhance usage and overall accessibility for end users.Maintain comprehensive documentation of data source configurations, processes, and procedures for reference and training purposes.Work closely with IT teams to integrate data sources with other systems and enhance the current data sources as needed.Documents and effectively communicates report enhancements and newly created reports to end users.Effective communication skills to convey information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Additional Skills/Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.Must be detail oriented, have a high curiosity for data and developing creative solutions.Strong communication skills.Experience with visualization software, Tableau a plus.Experience with SQL, Excel, and Python preferred.Must be able to work collaboratively in an Agile environment with peers and end-users.General Description
