Louis Allis:

In July 2021 WorldWide Electric acquired Georator Corporation. Since its founding in 1950, Georator has been the leading supplier of permanent magnet generators and mechanical and solid-state frequency converters for military, research, and industrial applications. The Business Development Manager - Controls Specialist is a key role in WorldWide Electric's plans to increase market share of Motor Controls with an emphasis on Variable Frequency Drives and Soft Starters. This position will be a facilitator of sales growth through WWE's outside and inside sales as well as distribution channels. This person shall be responsible for identifying avenues for new business, and then to work with WWE senior management and product management to exploit these opportunities.The Role:

The Business Development Manager - Controls Specialist will provide technical expertise to the sales team, sales channel, product engineering, R&D and our end customers.

Business Development Manager should work with the WWE Territory Managers, Inside Sales, and the external distributor sales force in closing new business. He/she shall also create demand in the market by generating leads/potential opportunities and work with WWE Sales to close these opportunities.

The BDM is available for joint calls with the WWE sales teams and the channel partners focusing on closing business and/or providing a product demonstration for a potential customer. He/she will also develop business independent of the WWE sales force, but always in collaboration with the Territory Manager.

The BDM can act as a link for communication between the WWE sales team and product management. This communication can involve technical data, approvals, competitive product feedback, competitive pricing, new product needs, and any market conditions.

Other responsibilities include conducting training of internal and external stakeholders, negotiating pricing, developing solutions, developing technical material, and other tasks as deemed necessary to support the growth of the Controls business.

Requirements:

The BDM should have adequate people and sales skills to perform a sales function. The BDM should possess key sales skills, including opportunity identification, negotiation, overcoming objectives, and closing deals.

The BDM should possess a working understanding of how Variable Frequency Drive and Soft Start products are applied, installed, and programmed to meet the customer's application needs.

The BDM should possess a working understanding of how to configure Drive and Softstart products options such as Field Bus and I/O modules.

The BDM should possess an understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals as applied to Drives, Softstarts, and Motors.

The BDM should have the ability to support customers with the commissioning of drives and Softstarts. This will include over the phone and on-site visits.

This position requires 75% travel. It may be located remote from WWE offices.

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or relevant technical training (such as associate degree or military training)

10+ years of directly related experience.
