DescriptionBETA is seeking for an experienced

Stormwater/Civil Project Engineer

to support our Water and Wastewater Team. The position will interact with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals in the New England area and will provide leadership and client development specifically in water resources engineering, watershed planning, construction management, civil infrastructure design, and permitting. This team of professionals comes together to create innovated design solutions for our public-sector clients utilizing nature-based solutions to improve infrastructure, address water quality issues and mitigate for climate impacts such as flooding. Projects may include: stormwater control retrofits; green infrastructure; land and water resource development and planning; stream and streambank restoration; wetland and buffer restoration; hydraulic and hydrologic modeling; drainage and stormwater studies; and stormwater management permitting including MS4 compliance programs.

Responsibilities:Manage projects and mentor staff engineers in MS4 program compliance projects for community clients as well as watershed planning efforts and design projects related to stormwater management.Assist with the technical execution of projects amongst a team of dedicated project managers.Identify engineering issues and develop solutions.Conduct and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.Assist in the preparation of engineering design and construction plans, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, and bid documents.Assist in stormwater management permitting.Assist in business development and proposal efforts.Conduct field and office QA/QC responsibilities.Provide responsive client service through strong and prompt communication.Attend and present at client and public meetings.Collaborate across internal disciplines and office locations.RequirementsSkills Required:Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.Professional Engineer certification required.8 to 12 years of relevant experience.Background and professional experience in civil site design, surface water hydrology, open channel hydraulics, watershed management, and stormwater permitting.Highly motivated self-starter with a professional attitude.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise letters, memoranda, technical reports, proposals, and figures.Strong computer skills including a solid foundation in MS Office applications.Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D and ArcGIS/Pro experience.Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspections.Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow).Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Preferred Experience:Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software preferred.About BETA:BETA Group, Inc. is a New England based consultant engineering firm and leader in the fields of transportation, traffic, structural, civil/site, and water/wastewater engineering; landscape architecture; urban design and planning; GIS/asset management; environmental sciences and permitting; and construction services.
