The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an Accountant/Financial Analyst to join our Commercial Finance & Accounting team in El Segundo, CA. You will play a critical role in supporting the financial management of Mattel’s largest divisions.

What Your Impact Will Be:Perform general ledger close procedures in Oracle as part of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process. This includes the preparation of journal entries, primarily related to Toy Store, Logistics, and other areas.Partner with Global FP&A team to ensure they understand the drivers of specific P&L variances during the close.Coordinate with various business groups including U.S. Customs/Distribution Services, Global FP&A, Sales Finance, and Supply Chain to accrue for inbound and outbound shipping expenses.Perform detailed account reconciliations related to Toy Store, Logistics, & others.Leverage various systems such as Oracle, HFM, MIMICS, WebXtender, Handler, etc. to provide continuous support and smooth operation.Support internal and external audit requests.Ensure compliance with Corporate accounting policies and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

What We’re Looking For:BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.MBA or CPA license is a plus.3+ years of work experience, preferably in a large global corporate accounting department.Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Oracle a plus.Solid understanding of financial accounting concepts.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills in a geographically-distributed and fast-paced environment.Strong documentation skills with attention to detail a must.Self-starter with problem solver skills.Strong relationship building skills.Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $88,000 and $110,000. This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
