More about Bankwell can be found at www.mybankwell.com.Summary of Position:The Payment Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Payment Operations department. This role ensures the efficient and accurate processing of payments, compliance with relevant regulations, and the continuous improvement of payment systems and processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of payment processing, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and security.Responsibilities include:Oversee the daily operations of the Payment Operations teamEnsure all electronic payments (ACH, Wire, Card services) are processed accurately and timelyMonitor and manage payment processing workflows and systemsLead, mentor, and develop a team of Payment Operations AnalystsDrive projects and roadmap deliverablesFoster a collaborative and high-performing team cultureEnsure compliance with all relevant payment regulations and standardsImplement and maintain robust risk management processesStay up to date with changes in payment regulations and industry best practicesIdentify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to resolve friction pointsCollaborate with IT and other departments to enhance payment systemsDevelop and maintain documentation for payment processing proceduresGenerate regular reports on payment processing performance and KPIsAnalyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvementPresent findings and recommendations to senior managementBe a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding payment processing issuesCollaborate with other departments to ensure seamless payment operationsExperience with managing relationships with payment processors and other third-party vendors (e.g. Fiserv)Requirements:Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field8+ years of experience in payment processing or financial operations5+ years in of leadership in electronic paymentsProfessional Certifications preferred (e.g. Accredited ACH Professional (AAP), Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP)Proven experience in a managerial or leadership roleStrong understanding of payment processing systems and regulations, including experience with The Clearing House, The Federal Reserve, Nacha, SEPA, Faster Payments Scheme, etc.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to influence key partners and executive stakeholdersStrong communication and interpersonal skillsDetail-oriented with a commitment to accuracyProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and payment processing software
