Oversee all aspects of the fund development program, including implementation of strategic initiatives to support the mission of Plymouth Harbor on Sarasota Bay. Build appropriate major and planned giving, annual giving, grant writing, donor stewardship and recognition programs; gift processing and effective use of volunteers.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee day-to-day operation of the Foundation to ensure that the necessary policies, procedures, structures, regulatory compliance and staff are in place to operate an effective program; ensure workflow commensurate with priorities and deadlines. Regular reporting updates to and strategic planning with President/CEO.Build and maintain a portfolio of 150 major and planned giving prospective donors; establish individual strategic plans for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.Administer policies and procedures for all aspects of gift and donor administration to ensure efficient and effective operation; review and modify procedures from time to time as needed.Manage all areas of fund development so that development goals are met, optimal performance is achieved, and budgeted resources are appropriately expended.Develop annual budgets in collaboration with VP/CFO and President/CEO.Create an annual report of fund usage to all donors; special reports of fund usage to named gift fund and scholarship donors and families, as appropriate; development of individual reports and one-on-one meetings as needed.Work collaboratively with the President/CEO to develop agendas and meeting focus for the newly created Foundation; responsible for all follow-up.In addition to being an ex-officio member of each development-related committee, serves on such other committees as requested by the President/CEO. Represents senior management in an exemplary manner both internally and externally (greater Sarasota community).SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYThis position has no supervisory responsibility.QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Bachelor’s degree.Experience:Minimum seven years of progressively responsible development experience.Demonstrated record of accomplishment in the management and leadership of a comprehensive development function.Experience working with boards of directors and volunteers.Experience with budget management.Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.Experience in healthcare philanthropy highly desirable; experience with senior living communities a plus.General:Knowledge of and familiarity with the greater Sarasota community.Thorough knowledge, understanding and experience in all areas of fund development, including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, grant writing and capital campaigns.Must be a detail-oriented person and able to perform duties with great accuracy on a daily basis.Must have excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to conduct oneself in a non-controversial style; a style that inspires the respect of others and promotes a sense of trust in the individual’s competence.Must have good communication skills; speaking, writing, and listening.Must be fluent in English.Must have excellent computer skills.Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs with emphasis on Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word, with the ability to learn and use proprietary software as required.CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONSThis position does not require any certificate/license/registration.
