Overview
You will join the Human Factors & Experience Design (HFXD) team and implement the UX strategy on the OTTAVA surgical robotic system and related experiences.
Working closely with designers, product management and human factors, you will drive the future of surgical robotics. Your day to day will incorporate concepting inspiring north stars, creating designs that progress the robotic roadmap, and crafting the best user experience for the entire medical team.
Surgery is a team sport, so you will be encouraged to become familiar with a range of user types across a variety of clinical specialties. You'll bring your passion for design to a broad range of projects using both internal and external resources.
As a member of the HFXD team reporting to the UX Design Manager, you'll also help shape a team culture that is inclusive, creative and obsessed with improving experiences for our users. We strive to build impactful work while also crafting a positive environment for us all to work in.

Craft visions, concepts and UX designs for the OTTAVA surgical robotAlign the work within a team of UX designers to produce a flawless platform experienceWork with Industrial Designers, Human Factors Engineers, and User Experience Researchers to promote a unified vision of the User's best experienceCollaborate with teams and partners to align experience expectations across multiple releasesMentor other UX Designers within the team while growing your own craftPartner with the rest of HFXD to craft the team culture and advance the team's overall impact across experiences that we support
Qualifications:
Education:
Required:
Bachelor's or equivalent experience in Human-Computer Interaction, Digital/Visual Design, Industrial Design or other related field
Preferred:
Masters or other higher level degrees are a plus and will be considered as part of the applicant's professional experience
Required Skills & Experience:
At least 5 years of experience designing for highly sophisticated systems (or Masters plus 2 years)Experience leading the design of a product, service or system end-to-endProficiency with typical UX design and prototyping tools (Adobe Suite, Figma, Principal, etc.)Strong portfolio demonstrating an outcome-focused, innovative design processProven ability to design for complex workflows, transactions and systems thinking
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Familiarity with the regulations of the medical or pharmaceutical industry
Other:
Ability to travel up to 10%, international and domestic, is required
The anticipated base pay range for this position is [$119,500] to [$191,400].
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
