Territory Sales Manager - Home Centers

BlueLinx is growing. With the recent remarkable growth in home center retail, we are looking for a South Texas based Territory Sales Manager to focus on working with The Home Depot and Lowe’s. This is an opportunity to further develop and advance in this highly marketable business segment. The Territory Manager will have the opportunity to work daily with The Home Depot and Lowe’s at the local level building business relationships between BlueLinx and PSMs, PARs, desk personnel and local management. A Territory Manager understands the importance of being a strong relationship builder, is confident in their analytical skills and product knowledge and is a person that has the ability to speak to all levels of the organization – internal BlueLinx personnel and The Home Depot and Lowe’s team members.

Responsibilities
Identifies new sales opportunities. Sales efforts typically focus on selling program business.Understands what it takes to grow Special Order sales at The Home Depot and Lowe’s and develops a strategy to accomplish growth goals.Identify key players in the local market (PARs, PSMs, Regional Pro Directors) and build a connection with the local BlueLinx team.Engage suppliers that have a retail focus and leverage their resources in the field.Maximizes sales efforts by focusing sales on largest most profitable opportunities.Knowledge of products, market drivers, competitors, sales environment and store working.Close sales opportunities by gaining purchase order and executing all order fulfillment procedures.Provides outstanding customer service and post sales satisfaction facilitating long term relationships for repeat business with customers.
Qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent industry experience strongly preferred. MS / MBA a plus.4 + years of experience as a sales driver. Individual that can both manage an established book of business, as well as increase partnerships. Building Material knowledge is a plus.Market knowledge, product experience and relationship building acumen, along with consultative selling skills.“Hunter” mentalityStrong planning, organization, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.A solid level of knowledge is needed in account management, scheduling, customer support and service, product knowledge, product pricing, sales support, warehousing, distribution, transportation, and records.The best fit for this role is a self-motivated driven individual.Possesses basic telephone skills with the ability to identify key issues, evaluate facts and recommend appropriate action.Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant sales systems technology.
