The Carlyle Group’s Fund Management (FM) team seeks an experienced technical Product Owner responsible for managing the segment’s reporting and data platforms with a broad array of business stakeholders in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role, sitting in the business, will pair with a technical lead, sitting in Carlyle’s Global Technology & Solutions (GTS) team, to lead an Agile team of external and internal resources responsible for delivering and supporting Deal Team, Fund Management, and various corporate reporting needs. Carlyle’s reporting and data platform currently leverages various technologies including: Seismic, PowerBI, UpSlide, .Net custom solutions, and Snowflake and SQL databases. The Product Owner will partner with business stakeholders and GTS to create and maintain product roadmaps and backlogs that align with the Firm’s strategic goals and priorities. The Product Owner will drive the strategic vision of the firm’s reporting and data platforms and will proactively work with business stakeholders and fellow Product Owners to identify and implement expanded usage of the platform to solve complex and critical business challenges. In addition to leading the strategic vision of the platform, the Product Owner will also be directly responsible for supporting Fund Management’s usage of these tools, especially during peak usage at quarter-end and year-end reporting. The Product Owner will maintain a backlog of enhancements. Strong communication and executive presence are required to successfully interact with business stakeholders and act as the lead driver for continued growth and scaling of the segment’s reporting and data platform.

Responsibilities

Product Development

Maximizes the value of delivered products to ensure they meet stakeholders’ needsEmpowered ultimate decision maker for the product, responsible for defining its vision, and prioritizing features/stories according to business valueUnderstands all value stream's key capabilities within the respective team, domain, and focus areaWorks with the team to breakdown capabilities and/or value streams into backlog items (epics, stories, etc.) and prioritizes backlog for the teamConsistently engages with agile team to provide enough information to estimate amount of work and activities for value streams and helps slot them onto the rolling four quarter roadmapEnd User AdoptionRepresents stakeholders/end users of a productCommunicates to end user community on consistent basisProvides hands-on training to end users as needed and can translate their needs into business requirements for the teamProduction SupportWorks with our GTS technical leads to understand technical debt and other technical impediments at a high level so that they can be prioritized on the roadmapIdentifies and escalates capacity, resource, and deliverable risks as neededWorks with GTS Partner to manage vendor relationshipsQualifications

Concentration in Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting Information Systems, or related field, strongly preferred6+ years of overall relevant experience (or related consulting experience), requiredExperience working with business intelligence or enterprise / corporate performance management applications supporting business customers, strongly preferredMinimum of 3 years of Product Owner experience in an Agile environmentMinimum of 1 year experience with SQL, R, or Python.Robust experience with Seismic, PowerBi, and Snowflake or similar technologiesProven ability to lead and execute responsibilities simultaneouslyUnderstanding of Accounting and Finance functions, strongly preferredGood knowledge of private equity/asset management business, value streams, and technology and a deep, tactical way of thinkingAbility to translate strategic directions and business objectives into goalsKnow how to break down key features into appropriate user storiesExperience running high-impact initiatives within the organizationEffective delegator with proven management of cross-functional teams without direct supervisionAbility to manage conflicting priorities and can differentiate between distractions and the roadblocks that can impact goalsAbility to drive consensus among stakeholders, manage expectations, and build strong relationshipsThe compensation range for this role is specific to DC and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.The anticipated base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $140,000.
