Summary of the Position:
The National Account Manager will execute the company's retail channel strategy and customer management to grow sales and achieve category leadership of Nutramax products. The National Account Manager must have experience in working directly with Mass Market and Membership Club retailers. The National Account Manager must understand the commercial aspects of the CPG business and be an integral member of the Retail Sales team, helping develop and implement the company's go to market strategy. They will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing sales and marketing plans with key accounts to achieve sales targets and category leadership. Responsibilities will include channel strategy development, account planning, annual budgeting, promotional planning, forecasting, and relationship building.
Roles and Responsibilities:Play a key role in developing and executing the sales strategies in large Mass and/or Club retail accounts.Support the development of strategy and sales plans with other National accounts in accordance with corporate goals.Manage and build relationship with the accounts Merchant Teams to deliver annual sales and profit targets and establish short and long-term sales goals for all retail products.Provide P&L oversight for accounts to maximize profitability by growing top line sales and managing selling expenses.Develop annual sales and marketing plans with Executive Commercial Director and create and execute annual promotional plans for pet product assortment with customer.Collaborate cross functionally with Brand Marketing to help define go to market strategies from product concept to product launch through analysis and research to meet customer needs.Understand the competitive landscape and develop strategies that position Nutramax brands as category leaders.In collaboration with Demand Planning, create annual forecast and provide monthly updates and inputs to allow for on-time, in-full delivery.Advise marketing on market demand and insights, promotional opportunities to inform future campaign ideas, incentives, and offers.Support and collaborate with Brand Protection and Marketing to remedy problems.Communicate with other departments within the organization to foster teamwork and effectiveness.Minimum Requirements:
5+ years of CPG sales experience in large Mass and Club retail account management.Commercial awareness, marketing, and sales backgroundIn depth understanding of developing and executing sales & marketing strategies, plans and campaigns.Strong commercial and analytical skills - experience analyzing syndicated data to measure performance and inform decision making.Actively prepare and communicate business unit KPI's to the executive team and other business units.Working knowledge of retail contracts and understanding Terms and Conditions by which everyday business is conducted.Pet category experience a plus, CPG experience required.Domestic travel 5%-10%Strong written and oral communication skills
Education and Experience:
bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or sales/marketing related discipline, with a minimum of five years related experience and/or training.
