GLOBAL NETWORK ENGINEER
to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.
Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The selected candidate will be responsible for both the engineering of new capabilities and the maintenance of existing environments within the program.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Produce designs including system, logical, and connectivity drawings, and conduct testing of network designsMaintain technical expertise in diverse network and computer hardware and software areas, including interconnection and interfacing with a wide range of devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, etc.Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance network capabilitiesSolves complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativityTravel may be required to program sitesMinimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree with at least 9 years of experience or an advanced degree with at least 7 years of experience or equivalentActive DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent) with Continuing Education (CE)Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience in the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of networking equipment including switches, routers, and firewallsWorking knowledge of spanning trees, trunking, routing protocols, first hop redundancy protocols, and IP subnettingDemonstrated experience in the design and execution of network engineering configuration changes and documentation in a complex IT environmentMust have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing toolsCandidate must have proven troubleshooting skillsMust be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers and independently on large field projects.Must be a quick learner and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while maintaining a can-do attitudeDesired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience planning and supporting network infrastructure deploymentExperience with Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switches, Juniper routers and switches, Fortinet firewalls, Palo Alto firewallsExperience with WANs, encryption devices, VxLAN, multicast, BGP, OSPF, and WiresharkFamiliarity with SIPRNet, MDACNet, or other DOD networksComp TIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA, and Cisco CCNA/CCNP certificationsUnderstanding the project lifecycle, related processes, and traditional systems engineering skillsExperience reviewing work products produced by a team of engineers for quality, completeness, and adherence to established procedures and policies
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI level security clearance.
Salary Range
$160,000 - $224,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
