BL has 18 offices and is expanding.Our employee owners are capable of being successful working in hybrid environments, and we are now offering opportunities to continue in this setting.Job Description:This position will be primarily responsible for overseeing and managing production of civil design elements for Energy portfolio projects, including site plans, grading plans, details, erosion controls, access road plans, profiles and cross-sections, utility and storm drainage plans and profiles, general notes and plan notations, specification preparation, bid document preparation, and permitting. These deliverables, in addition to personnel and client management, will support the collaborative development of projects in BL’s Energy division, including work related to natural gas networks, electrical distribution and substations, and renewable energy assets such as ground-mount photovoltaic solar generation facilities.Responsibilities Include:Site layoutGrading and earthworkStormwater management design and permittingErosion and sedimentation control design and permittingPreparation / submission of permitsQuality assuranceMentoring and development of direct reportsInterfacing with clients and regulatory agenciesDeveloping proposals and contractsManaging project schedules, resourcing, and financial metricsRequired Experience:B.S. in Civil Engineering8+ years of civil or utility-related engineering and project management experienceKnowledge of site layout, grading, storm water and erosion control design principlesConstruction/constructability expertise as it relates to production of design drawings and resolution of field issuesPreferred Experience:NYS PETrenchless technology designFoundation / geotechnical experience and understandingSpecification writing
