Summary Job Goal:
The Legal Compliance Counsel will perform legal duties as assigned including transactional law, grant review, and acting as the point of contact for legal compliance and ethics at AVCP. This role will be responsible for identifying and reviewing internal compliance with external regulatory standards and creating space to further develop a strong foundation of internal policies and processes, and grant compliance.Performance Responsibilities: Include the following -Responsible for overseeing AVCPs policy process, including:Drafting, revising, and reviewing policies and procedures.Training and education for new and existing policies, including organization-wide training on HIPAA, and other confidentiality/security rules.Regular review of policies for continued compliance with regulations and best practices.Compiling and maintaining a list of statutes and regulations applicable to AVCP programs and activities.Providing grant regulation review, education, and training to programs as necessary or requested including coordination with the Director of Compacting.Advising Programs and Administration of changes to statutes and regulations, grant requirements, or case law that have an impact on AVCP operations.Working with the Human Resources Department to identify and resolve current and potential risk/compliance issues.Providing legal advice and counsel on legal compliance and ethics matters.As requested, reviews, drafts, revises, and negotiates contracts, sub-awards, and other agreements for AVCP divisions, programs, and departments individually or in coordination with AVCPs Corporate Counsel.
