Directs and leads the daily production operations in the Decatur facility through continuous strategic and tactical coordination across operations and functional support organizations to achieve short and longer-term operational and business objectives.Focuses team members toward a common goal to achieve desired program/project performance.Formulates strategies and prioritizes and coordinates production workflows and capabilities to ensure the production plan is executed to meet and exceed Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives.Translates strategies into actionable objectives and business plans.Drives operational efficiencies and improvement activities that add value to the manufacturing value stream and ensures effective returns on assets / investments.Drives innovation and continuous improvements, using current and by developing manufacturing tools and processes, such as, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Lean Manufacturing.Ensures companywide programs, policies, procedures, and contractual requirements are implemented and optimized effectively within operations.Leverages the ULA enterprise to achieve program goals and object and develops the necessary collaborative relationships to execute the programs/projects.Leads and develops, including mentoring and coaching.Builds and develops a capable workforce of high performing work teams, utilizing perfect product delivery concepts.Exemplifies ULA’s Core Values and personal commitment to ULA’s successRequired EducationBachelorRequired Years of ExperienceMinimum of 8 years of related work experienceBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.Minimum of 8 years applicable experience in aerospace, automotive or other large vehicle assembly/integration, including at least 2 years combined experience in managing people, project management or as team leader.Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to translate strategies into operational processes and outcomes.Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively lead and develop teams in attainment of operational, business and talent development objectives.Purposeful and strategic leader that can drive change and create a unity of purpose.
Preferred QualificationsBackground and/or leadership in engineering.Experience in Lean manufacturing.Green or Black Belt certified.Experience with Cost and Scheduling management.Experience working with a represented workforce.Experience in negotiations, Bargaining Agreements, Incentive Agreements, Training, etc.Experience in leading a multiple discipline organization.
