As a

MuleSoft Integration Architect

at Optum, you will work hands-on with our customers and partners to solve mission-critical business challenges using MuleSoft's Anypoint Platform. You will provide onsite technical guidance on MuleSoft implementation projects, evaluate the customer's technical and functional requirements, and develop cost-effective solutions to provide customers with demonstrable returns. As a subject-matter expert in the field, you will develop solutions to help customers realize their business goals and advise them on best practices for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid integration, and API management.You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Develop integration solutions to meet the requirements using components of the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Design Center, Anypoint Studio, API Manager, Data Weave, Message Queue, and assets from the Anypoint ExchangeSolution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design scalable, efficient, and secure integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. This involves creating high-level and low-level solution designs, defining integration patterns, and selecting appropriate MuleSoft components and connectorsSystem Integration: Develop, configure, and deploy MuleSoft integration applications and APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). This includes creating integration flows, message routing, data transformation, and implementing error handling and logging mechanismsTechnical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and MuleSoft architectural principles. Review code and provide feedback to ensure high-quality deliverablesPerformance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks, conduct performance testing, and optimize integration solutions for improved throughput, scalability, and reliability. Implement caching, message queuing, and other optimization techniques as necessarySecurity and Governance: Implement security measures and best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Define and enforce API governance policies, including access controls, rate limiting, and monitoringCollaboration and Documentation: Work closely with business analysts, solution architects, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct solution reviews, and document technical specifications, integration flows, and deployment processesTroubleshooting and Support: Assist in troubleshooting production issues, identifying root causes, and implementing resolutions. Provide ongoing support and maintenance for MuleSoft integration solutionsContinuous Improvement: Stay up to date with MuleSoft product updates, new features, and integration trends. Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to existing integration processes, frameworks, and toolsProvide guidance and drive creation of standards, reusable assets, and automation required for scale and multi-Line of Business adoptionAbility to understand business needs; drives outward results and ensure high-quality standards are metConvey complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in a manner that is easily understood, authoritative, and actionable for the businessWork closely with System Integrators and provide guidance throughout the SLDCCollaborate with enterprise architects and IT program managers to enhance existing business applications and facilitate solutions to meet business requirementsAssist in architecting technical solutions for enterprise systems using the MuleSoft product suite to drive the value equation and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment Knowledge of SOAAssist on technical POC's to prove out technology and ultimately leading into selectionDesign patterns for building middleware systems ground up using Message Routing, Content Enrichment, Message Filtering, Message Transformation, guaranteed delivery, Message sequencing, Batch message processing, error handling, and reconciliation mechanismsRequired Qualifications:Certified MuleSoft Developer, MuleSoft Platform Architect, MuleSoft Integration Architect5+ years of hands-on development experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform5+ years of experience in designing and implementing integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform5+ years of experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Studio, DataWeave, MuleSoft API Manager, Control Plane, Visualizer, Exchange, RTF, API Governance, MQ, and CloudHub 1.0 and 2.05+ years of experience with understanding of integration patterns, web services, API design, and SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) principles5+ years of experience with security concepts, such as SSL/TLS, OAuth, and SAML3+ years of experience integrating with Salesforce, Microsoft Power Platform, Pega, and other leading cloud technologies3+ years of experience with RESTful and SOAP-based services, JSON, XML, and other common data formats3+ years of experience with enterprise integration patterns, ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) concepts, and messaging systems3+ years of experience with Web Services Interoperability, WS-* standards, and ability to suggest, challenge and formulate solutions in multi-vendor and architecture committee meetings
