This role monitors implementation of legislative changes in data protection/privacy and related fields across the US, manages Privacy related matters important to company operations with the USA Member of Boehringer's Privacy Network and collaborates with Boehringer's US-based Privacy Officers and the Global Privacy Office to support the overall company Privacy Program. This position offers a base salary typically between $183,000 and 280,000.

click here.Duties & Responsibilities

Monitors US legislative and regulatory changes in data privacy and related fields.Interprets, communicates, and advises on US privacy regulations and standards that the business can implement and operationalize.Leads Privacy Impact Assessments to ensure new US Privacy and related laws and regulations are implemented compliantly.Maintains relationships with Boehringer Human Pharma and Animal Health business Unit Stakeholders to ensure providing proper legal support.Maintains relationships with US Boehringer Legal Department and external counsel to ensure collaboration and support in negotiation of data privacy contract language for complex support with drafting of US related privacy notices both internally and externally.Supports response to US regulatory authority data protection, privacy related requests, inspections, and investigations.Oversees data privacy incident management for all US data privacy incidents and international incidents involving US data and ensures all statutory reporting of privacy breaches to relevant US statutory bodies and consumers is conducted.Supports the development of data privacy and digital ethics governance framework, including privacy by design in the US.Requirements

JD required.Minimum eight (8) years work experience preferred, preferably within a law firm, in-house legal department, government agency or other relevant experience.Minimum five (5) years professional experience in Privacy law preferred.Experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare sector a plus.Privacy Certification(s)like IAPP-CIPM/CIPT/CIPP(US) or equivalent are a plus.Advance degree in data privacy and protection program management, data governance, security and/or privacy technology management related topics preferred.Team player with collaborative skills.
