Position Title : Lead Software Engineer

Job Description

Responsible for leading technical architecture, design, implementation, data modelling, deployment, and support of applications. Design, develop, and implement solutions to meet business outcomes. Specific responsibilities include:

Design, Develop and Implement end to end platform solutions.Hands on development, data modelling, code quality, static code analysis, unit testing, design and code reviews, continuous integration, release management, performance tuning and execution.Participate in setting technical direction, sprint planning, release planning, and prioritization of work on the platform.End to end involvement in application lifecycle phases including DevOps process, release deployments and support.Work effectively throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle to deliver business solutions.Partner with in-house application and data architects while implementing systems requirements.Analyze business requirements, provide technical architecture, design, and manage delivery to production.Ensure high quality release with focus on production stability and scalability.

Position is fixed location based in Boston office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.

Job Requirements

Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a directly related field plus four (4) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or a related occupation involving software development supporting complex applications through the development lifecycle.

Must have 4 years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

Building micro services using Java and Spring framework toolsBuilding performant services serving large amounts of dataDesigning relational and document-oriented data modelsAgile software development and test methodologies, including GIT and Jenkins CI

Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

AWS services S3, EC2, RDS (Postgres/MySQL), SNS, SQS lambda, or CloudFormationUtilizing document oriented datastore, including Elasticsearch or MongoDBEvent driven software systemsObservable and fault tolerant systems with emphasis on metrics collection and proactive alertingDeveloping software for Financial IndustryDesigning patterns and data architecture principles

Will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or a related occupation involving software development supporting complex applications through the development lifecycle in lieu of a Master’s degree plus four (4) years of experience.

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, $158,000-185,000/year.
