The Senior Account Manager is one of the primary business contacts for Clients and is responsible for possessing and applying knowledge of industry trends and related regulations while servicing Clients’ accounts in an innovative and efficient manner. This position shall also develop and maintain favorable internal and external relationships, with the end goal of providing the highest level of customer service by meeting or exceeding industry standards.Position responsibilities:Oversees the servicing of a designated book of business as relating to marketing, claims, and administrationResearches an issues’ root cause, implements, and resolves policy-related issuesRecommends potential enhancements or improvements to processes, products, and/or policiesUses discretion and independent judgment when analyzing industry trends and providing related Client guidance.Develops financial models and reports for Client and more senior staff, provides interpretation and implication of analysis, as well as recommendationsProvides expertise in strategic planning and consultative advice to clients, including the production, analysis, and recommendations for changes to coverage plansEngages in Client strategy meetings to manage insured expectations for upcoming termDevelops and presents coverage plan and renewal terms to ClientAssesses and interprets exposure information from the ClientAnalyzes quotes from carriers to determine appropriate recommendationsInterprets and evaluates policy terms to ensure adequate coverage for Client’s identified exposuresParticipates in negotiations with carriers for new and renewal quotesCollaborates with senior staff in selecting new markets for submission and requesting quotesReviews new business opportunity information and provides related recommendations to Unit Manager/Account ExecutiveEstablishes and maintains relationships and interfaces with Clients, carriers, and other vendorsResearches and understands industry trends and government regulationsMentors and trains junior-level staffPerform other work-related duties as assignedQualifications

Position qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and/or years of experience equivalentTypically, three or more years of Client services experience is requiredDemonstrates strong working knowledge and experience within brokerage/commercial insurance industryStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)Strong attention to detail requiredUnderstands industry trends and governmental regulationsAbility to attend industry training sessionsReadiness to expand knowledge and effectiveness in the insurance industry by successful completion of extended insurance education beyond continuing education requirements as neededOrganizational and time management skills to prioritize heavy workloads to meet time-sensitive deadlinesAbility to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting the confidentiality of client and company informationMust have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, project team members, and associates at all levels of responsibility, representing Lockton in the highest professional mannerAbility to work outside of regular business hoursAbility to travel by automobile and aircraft and be away from home more than one day and nightLegally able to work in the United States
