Relief Veterinarian Needed - Center Veterinary Clinic, San Diego, CA
Center Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Relief Veterinarian to cover for our current DVMs who will be taking their well-deserved summer vacations. We need coverage for 10-hour shifts on the following dates at our practice in San Diego, California:
August 6th, 7th, 8th (Tuesday - Thursday)
August 13th, 14th, 15th (Tuesday - Thursday)
August 27th, 28th, 29th (Tuesday - Thursday)
We are a well-established veterinary practice dedicated to providing comprehensive care for pets in the San Diego area. Our brand new, modern facility is equipped to handle a wide range of medical and surgical cases, supported by a skilled and friendly team.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a diverse caseload, from routine wellness exams to more complex medical workups and surgical procedures. Strong diagnostic skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducting comprehensive physical examinations on dogs and cats
Diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions and diseases
Performing routine vaccinations and preventative care
Providing advice to clients on pet nutrition, behavior, and general care
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests like bloodwork, urinalysis, x-rays, etc.
Dentistry procedures such as cleanings, extractions, etc.
Administering anesthesia and monitoring patients during procedures
Prescribing medications and treatment plans
Handling emergency cases that present to the clinic
Maintaining clear and detailed medical records
Consulting with staff veterinarians and providing handoff reports
Educating clients on their pet's conditions and instructions for at-home care
Qualifications and Skills:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
Valid state veterinary license
Must have proof of Professional Liability Insurance Trust (PLIT)
Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine
Have professional mannerism and show sensitivity with patients, clients, and staff
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information effectively to owners and staff
Shift times needed:
Tuesday - Thursday: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm (1 hour lunch, last appt at 5:00 pm)
