The individual in this role will work as a leader of several project teams supporting clients on a wide variety of engagements covering topics such as financial modeling, financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues, pricing, and product development, focused especially on annuity products including MYGA, FIA, VA and RILA. This position comes with significant upwards potential for a successful and motivated candidate.The RoleLead parts of large projects or whole small projects to meet client engagement objectivesManage and direct more junior colleagues that perform analysis and develop tools, ensuring a high-quality work product has been prepared and will be delivered to the clientShare knowledge and experience with other colleaguesWork collaboratively with others on a project teamReview peer work product as a quality control measureLead client correspondence in both written and verbal formatLead meetings and interactions with clients, managing expectations and raise appropriate issues to Client Relationship ManagersContribute to development of intellectual capital that leads to our service offerings such as Predictive Analytics, Financial Modeling, Experience Analysis, Regulation Changes among othersSupport revenue generation for the firm by meeting billable hour expectations and generating new business both individually and as part of the broader client relationship management teamComplete CE requirements to maintain SOA credentialsThe RequirementsAt least 7 years of experience in an actuarial role at a life insurance company, consulting firm, or financial services organizationStrong technical skills, preferably with the ability to direct and review work produced in at least one of: Microsoft Excel with VBA, SQL, or RExpertise in financial modeling and leading projects utilizing actuarial software (Moody’s Analytics AXIS, RiskAgility FM, MG-ALFA, Moses, Prophet, and/or Polysystems) is a plusExpertise in annuity products such as MYGA, FIA, VA, and RILAExpertise in at least one of the following functional areas as applied to the life insurance industry: predictive analytics / data science, experience studies, financial reporting, financial modeling, mergers & acquisitions, and product development / pricingMotivated, independent learner willing to share their knowledge with othersAbility to work collaboratively across multiple officesAbility to direct work involving technical issues and requiring problem-solving skillsAbility to effectively assist junior colleaguesAbility to explain the big picture as to why an assignment needs to be performed, how it fits into the final objective and ensure that tasks performed are directly linked to client objectivesAbility to balance supporting and leading multiple projects with multiple clients, including timely communication of project and deliverable statusFlexibility to put in extra effort to meet client deadlines when necessaryStrong oral and written communication skills to explain work product, findings, and recommendations to junior colleagues, peers, and clientsFSA preferredPrior client-facing, consulting experience preferredThis position will remain posted for a minimum of three business days from the date posted or until sufficient/appropriate candidate slate has been identified.
