A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Law Attorney to join their San Diego, CA team. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of family law cases, from the initial client consultation through trial and post-judgment modifications. The role requires a thorough understanding of family law, strong advocacy skills, and handling sensitive and emotionally charged situations with professionalism and empathy.Job Responsibilities:Carefully crafting necessary court filings and supporting documents, including:
Draft family law pleadingsInitial filingsRequests for OrdersEx parte paperworkDiscoveryClient declarationsStipulationsTemporary restraining orders
Expertly researching statutes, case law, opinions, briefs, and other information needed for cases.Assiduously following up on correspondence with clients, opposing counsel, and experts.Vigorously representing clients and their interests in court.Manage client communications and provide legal advice and guidance.Preparing and attending depositions, hearings, and trials.Negotiating settlements and mediation agreements.Requirements:Must have a Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school.A CA State Bar License is required.Minimum of 3 years of equivalent experience in family law.Proven ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school.Active membership in the California State Bar.Skills:In-depth knowledge of family law statutes and case law.Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.High level of professionalism and ethical standards.Empathy and the ability to handle sensitive situations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
