This role encompasses coordinating admissions, discharges, and transfers in collaboration with the primary nursing team. Communicates with the physicians, nurses and other members of the interdisciplinary care team, as appropriate, about changes in patients' conditions, including results of diagnostic studies and changing symptoms and responds quickly and accurately to changes in a patient's condition or response to treatment. Will also provide direct and indirect patient care, as needed, performing general nursing duties of the Registered Nurse and may also function in the clinical team lead nurse role if needed.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Admit/Discharge/Transfer (ADT) Registered NurseEnsures smooth operations for the medical surgical unit by providing admission assistance, managing discharges, facilitating patient transfers and addressing issues within the department.Oversees patient discharges, managing orders, facilitating necessary education, and arranging follow-up care.Collaborates with evening shift nurses to prepare documentation and education for morning discharges.Identifies areas where patients and their families need more information and formulate teaching plans to help promote patient's overall well-beingProvides support during patient admissions, ensuring a smooth transition into care.Effectively performs the duties/responsibilities of a staff medical surgical registered nurse, considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age, within scope of practice.Interacts frequently with physicians, nursing staff, other departments, patients and their families to ensure effective treatment and an interdisciplinary care approach when neededScreens all admissions and discharges for appropriateness, safety, and required orders.BENEFITS: Taking care for our community starts with taking care of our own team. Current RN licensure in the state of Idaho. Current BLS. ACLS, PALS, and Basic Dysrhythmia within 6 months of hire. Preferred chemotherapy certification within 1 year of hire.Experience: Preferred 1 year Med Surg nursing experience and/or previous leadership experience.Equipment/Technology: Able to demonstrate basic computer knowledge and skills. Preferred experience with Cerner EMR.Language/Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with different patients, families, visitors, staff, members of the interdisciplinary team and others.
