We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.We are seeking an ambitious, skilled, and versatile Sr. Principal Metrology Engineer. In this role, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of metrology for single crystal diamond for technological applications to be used in research and development as well as production. You'll be an integral part of an experienced team of mechanical, electrical, and materials engineers, and at the interface between R&D and production operations in our WS/SSF facilities. The position will involve hands-on work with commercial and custom characterization equipment, development of automation, standardization, and throughput optimization strategies, as well as conducting experiments.

Responsibilities:

Design, development, and optimization of existing and new analysis techniques and metrology solutions to support research, process/IP development, and failure analysis on our cutting-edge scd wafer technology.Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including process and automation, supporting continuous improvement efforts, attack challenges ranging from demonstration of capability to production deployment and support statistical process control (SPC).Define requirements for new processes and products and work with vendors to define metrology roadmap, evaluate new metrology equipment and technologies / upgrade existing tools/software.Perform detailed analytical studies on metrology data, prepare/present technical reports and recommend a course of action.Requirements:

PhD or Master's degree in Physics, Material Science, or Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experiences in material analysis, metrology, and/or failure analysis.Demonstrated experience in the semiconductor industry/ wafer characterization.Experience in the area of metrology using atomic force microscopy (AFM), white light interferometry (WLI), chromatic dispersion, profilometry, film thickness measurements, wafer defect detection, microscope inspection, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), automated optical inspection (AOI) etc.Expert in data collection and analysis / interpretation, as well as presentation of experimental findings, DOE, SPC.Proficient in measurement & analysis automation / scripting (e.g. LabVIEW, Python) is a plus.

$70,000 - $195,000 a year

Position is eligible for company shares. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s job duties, experience, and location.
