Production Planner

We are currently seeking a Production Planner to join a national distribution facility in Walker, LA. Our client, in operation since 1979, specializes in wastewater and water management equipment distribution across the continental United States.Responsibilities: Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules, coordinating with procurement, production, and logistics to ensure timely execution of manufacturing orders. Material Planning: Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure the availability of raw materials, components, and supplies. Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and adjust procurement plans to prevent shortages or excess inventory. Capacity Planning: Analyze production capacity, identify constraints, and develop feasible production plans. Optimize resource utilization by balancing workloads across production lines and shifts. Order Management: Review and prioritize customer orders based on delivery requirements and production capacity. Communicate order status, lead times, and potential delays to sales teams and customer service. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, streamline workflows, and reduce waste. Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, cycle times, and schedule adherence. Analyze variances and implement corrective actions to ensure production targets are met.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field. APICS certification preferred. Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in production planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.Location: Walker, LaType: Temp-to-hire
