Join our Ecology team and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.Your new roleAs our new Lead Consultant, you will work on complex projects involving the permitting, management, remediation, modification, and closure of industrial waste impoundments, water and tailings dams, and contaminated sites.Your key responsibilities will be:Supporting the conceptual design, permitting, final design, and construction of geoenvironmental remediation systems (cutoff walls, barriers, closures and caps, groundwater management systems, etc) for industrial waste impoundments and contaminated sites.Supporting the assessment of dam safety and management practicesPerforming construction quantity takeoffs and cost estimatingWorking with experienced Ramboll engineering and CAD staff to develop engineering drawings, technical specifications, and CQA plansPerforming geotechnical calculations including seepage, slope stability, seismic and liquefaction assessments, settlement analyses, etc.Writing reports, technical memoranda, and other documents for review by experienced Ramboll staffActing as the Technical Task Manager by independently leading tasks within a larger project team, under the direction of the Ramboll project manager.Leading field investigation programs (i.e., borings, sampling, laboratory testing)Implementing Ramboll’s safety and quality management systemsProviding construction oversight and/or management services10-20% travel is expectedYour new teamAs our new Lead Consultant, you will be part of our Environment and Health group supporting CCR, mining, and environmental remediation projects sitting out of our St. Louis, Kanas City, Missouri, or Chicago, Illinois office. While we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, for this role, we have identified some qualifications, skills, and capabilities that will set you up for success.Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering and 3+ years of relevant experience focused in geotechnical, geoenvironmental, and civil engineering

MS Degree and engineering design and cost estimating experience a plus

Registered PE (MO and IL, or licensure in another U.S. state with the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months)Required • Minimum Skills and Abilities:

Geotechnical calculations, including seepage and slope stabilityIndependent report writing for review by experienced Ramboll staffAbility to support the development of civil and geoenvironmental design projectsAbility to lead field subsurface investigation programsAbility to work semi-independently with limited, but regular, oversight from experienced Ramboll staff

Preferred • Skills and Abilities:

CAD(D) design experience, CCR experience, mining experience, and dam safety experience a plus, but not required
