You will be responsible for collaborating with the Product Manager and Engineering Director, business partners, and users to capture the right business requirements and accurately translate them to specifications that aid design, coding, and testing of moderate/complex software within the organization. You will engage with business and technology partners to support the conversion of their ideas into development user stories. As a key member of the team, you will make a difference across the organization, providing mentoring and guidance to less experienced peers. You will have the authority to assign work tasks and review the work of lower-level peers. Additionally, you will assist the department manager/director in developing processes and standards.*This is a hybrid role (twice-a-week, in-office) in our Raleigh, Jersey City, Hartford, or NYC offices.Job Description:

Build relationships with users and stakeholders within Arch Commercial Property Insurance, Catastrophe Modeling, and Risk Analytics. Deeply understand their workflows, needs, and pains. Maintain documentation around users, personas, workflows, rules, and data flows.Write epics, present them to stakeholders. Work with stakeholders and users on the requirements. Identify MVP, create increment level test plan and roll out plan. Collaborate with the Engineering Director/Managers for successful and timely delivery of epics.Write user stories, collaborate with BSAs and sprint teams on splitting stories into small vertical chunks using INVEST criteria. Drive backlog refinement and maintain a refined backlog for the upcoming 3 months.Assist testers and BSAs in writing Acceptance Criteria and Test cases to ensure high quality and test coverage.Participate in Scrum events, plan, prioritize, and provide teams with clarity about requirements and priorities.Communicate the product vision to the teams, providing clarity on how the product area fits into the bigger vision. Facilitate communication flow between teams and stakeholders.Participate in Product planning sessions and other product level scrum events around product level initiatives. Present and lead discussions around increments specific to the product area. Maintain release notes and share them with business stakeholders.Requirements:

3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner in Scrum or SAFe (or similar) environment.Deep understanding and a passion for Agile, product management, incremental delivery.Strong skills in writing stories focused on the user and business value, vertical slicing, INVEST criteria (or similar).Experience facing business stakeholders with a deep understanding of the business process and user workflow.Experience working with the Insurance business (commercial property and catastrophe modeling/risk analytics is a plus).A go-getter attitude. Active, engaged, self-starter, a person who knows what needs to be done and will go out of their way to build relationships.
