Physical security, cybersecurity, personnel security, and the protection of sensitive information are included. A strong background in defense security, extensive experience with DoD security protocols, and a proven track record of leading security teams in a high-stakes environment are ideal.Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy aligned with the company’s objectives and DoD requirementsOversee the protection of company facilities, equipment, and personnel. Implement access control systems, surveillance, and security protocolsLead the cybersecurity efforts to protect the company’s digital assets, including networks, systems, and data. Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standardsManage background checks, security clearances, and insider threat programs. Ensure all personnel adhere to security policies and proceduresConduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses. Develop and implement mitigation strategies for identified security risksDevelop and manage incident response plans for security breaches or incidents. Coordinate with law enforcement and DoD as necessaryEnsure compliance with all relevant DoD regulations, including NIST, CMMC, and other security frameworks. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changesDevelop and implement security training programs for all employees. Foster a culture of security awareness within the organizationWork closely with engineering, IT, legal, and operations teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the company’s operations and product developmentRegularly report to senior leadership on the status of the company’s security posture, incidents, and improvementsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred10+ years of experience in security management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the defense industryRelevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CPP) are highly desirableDeep understanding of DoD security regulations and standards.
