Job Overview
We are seekinga Head of Security responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of security within the organization. Physical security, cybersecurity, personnel security, and the protection of sensitive information are included. A strong background in defense security, extensive experience with DoD security protocols, and a proven track record of leading security teams in a high-stakes environment are ideal.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy aligned with the company’s objectives and DoD requirements Oversee the protection of company facilities, equipment, and personnel. Implement access control systems, surveillance, and security protocols Lead the cybersecurity efforts to protect the company’s digital assets, including networks, systems, and data. Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards Manage background checks, security clearances, and insider threat programs. Ensure all personnel adhere to security policies and procedures Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses. Develop and implement mitigation strategies for identified security risks Develop and manage incident response plans for security breaches or incidents. Coordinate with law enforcement and DoD as necessary Ensure compliance with all relevant DoD regulations, including NIST, CMMC, and other security frameworks. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes Develop and implement security training programs for all employees. Foster a culture of security awareness within the organization Work closely with engineering, IT, legal, and operations teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the company’s operations and product development Regularly report to senior leadership on the status of the company’s security posture, incidents, and improvements Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred 10+ years of experience in security management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the defense industry Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CPP) are highly desirable Deep understanding of DoD security regulations and standards.
