With a significant presence in California, we're looking to welcome a construction inspector to join our Los Angeles office.Duties include but are not limited to:Monitors contractor(s) compliance with contract requirements in accordance with QMO Plan and Procedures.Serves as Assessors per QMO Plan and Procedures and develop documentation in accordance with written procedures or instructions.Assesses and monitors each stage of construction up to completion. Interprets plans, specifications, and codes and verifies contract work is performed in accordance with all applicable governing codes and regulations.Monitors construction sites for safety violations.Prepares Non-Conformance Reports when work is not performed to the approved standards utilizing QMO Database.Maintains daily activity logs and reports with photographs, in a manner agreed prior to the work. Reviews progress reports for contractor payments. Monitors contractor-testing activities. Prepares reports on labor, material, and equipment on site.Conducts assessments of specific quality and management related activities as necessary.Assist in maintaining, supporting, and promoting a safe work environment while complying with safety rules, policies, and procedures.Provide Construction Safety and Security field services, as directed, including but not limited to Site Safety and Security Reviews including for Construction Equipment, Personnel, Work Procedures and Traffic Control.Coordinate preparation of inspection survey reports, cost estimates and maintenance records. Timely submittals of these reports and records.Arranges, coordinates and oversees technical assessments such as electrical, landscaping, soil testing, concrete, and asphalt mixes, and reinforcing steel for conformance to contract requirements, such as drawings and specifications.Ability to assist the engineering consultants in the collecting, interpreting, analyzing and presenting geotechnical, survey monitoring data and other similar activities.Coordinates laboratory activities and compares verifications test results with result from contractor’s laboratory.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or another related field with one (1) year of experience on a construction project.Approximately five (5) years of field experience on heavy construction projects, transportation, or transit construction projects for the appropriate disciplines including utilities, geotechnical, track, civil roadway, structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing and maintenance facility.Valid California Class C driver’s license.Able to obtain Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30-hour training certification prior to work.ICC / IBC Certificate of Reinforced Concrete and Masonry. ACIA Registered Construction Inspector License, or comparable Deputy Inspector License from a County or City agency is desirable.Certified or able to obtain certification in accordance with ICBO, NICET, ACI, AWS, or other nationally recognized standards acceptable to the Sr. Director of Quality Management. Desirable to possess an applicable American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification: (Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB)).Salary Range: $75k-108kBenefits: 401k, medical, dental, and vision insurance, STD/LTD disability, holiday, personal time off (PTO), parental leave, and company-paid life insurance.
