The Division of Legal Services (DLS) is looking for Attorneys to join our team with opportunities statewide. Base offices are located in Jefferson City, Saint Louis, Raytown, and Springfield, with satellite and remote offices available

Job Location: Kansas City, St. Louis, or Springfield, Missouri.Opportunity statewide; including the Lake Area, Cape Girardeau, and Hannibal, Missouri.

These attorneys focus on obtaining permanency for children in the custody of the Department of Social Services (DSS) Children’s Division (CD). The attorney will provide ongoing representation in juvenile cases and legal support and advice for case managers with the emphasis on achieving safe and swift permanency for kids in care. Permanency goals include reunification with a parent, guardianship, termination of parental rights/adoption, or another permanent planned living arrangement. What You’ll DoProvide support and legal advice to the Children’s Division.Maintain a case load in Juvenile Court, and occasionally in Circuit Court and Probate Court.Perform case analysis, issue spotting, time/calendar management, and case load organization.Work with other DSS team members, such as investigators and social workers.

Minimum Qualifications: A Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution and current member of The Missouri Bar. Excellent research and writing skills are required. Experience in litigation and a background in juvenile, probate and family law is preferred but not required.

Annual Starting Salary Range: $72,650-$87,393 (depending on work experience.)
