Role Description
Form Energy is hiring a Manager of Process Engineering to lead and grow the team responsible for ramping up manufacturing volumes on revolutionary first-of-a-kind production lines for our Anode, a critical component of Form Energy's Iron-Air battery. As the leader of a team of highly innovative engineers and technicians, you will be responsible for the development of manufacturing processes all the way from equipment commissioning to high volume production at Form Factory 1.This role will report to the Senior Manager of Electrode Process. Our Electrode Process Team is a cross-disciplinary group of experts in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, and Manufacturing. Together, we're responsible for designing, developing, and scaling cutting-edge electrode manufacturing processes. In this role, your leadership will make a significant and daily impact on a novel battery technology that will bring revolutionary reliability and sustainability to the electric grid. Prioritize safety across all aspects of manufacturing, ranging from process design to scaled manufacturing
Grow a team of world class engineers to expand Form's process engineering capabilities
Partner closely with our Manufacturing Equipment Team to design, build, install, and develop processes on first-of-kind manufacturing equipment
Lead a team of engineers in tackling tough challenges encountered during production ramps on these same equipment sets
Partner closely with our NPI-Ops team to stabilize and continuously improve manufacturing processes throughout the production ramp to high-volume manufacturing
Mentor, grow, and support team members with your expertise and practical manufacturing experience
Clearly communicate and execute on directives, plans, and schedules both up and down the leadership chain.
Collaborate extensively with battery and material engineers to explore the reaches of what is possible for processing Anode into a revolutionary, low-cost, energy storage medium
What you'll bring:
5+ years of experience in a novel manufacturing or pilot line environment
2+ years of experience leading agile and versatile technical teams, preferably related to new process or product introductions.
A hands-on, lead-by-example management style
Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, especially with interdisciplinary teams across multiple sites
Demonstrated experience using statistical methods for making data-driven process development decisions
Demonstrated versatility & agility working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; ability to wear multiple hats and quickly adapt to new information
Polymer or Battery Roll-to-roll processing experience is a plus
