As a Chain Planner, you’ll be responsible for achieving sales and profit objectives for a merchandise category or categories, working in conjunction with one or more buying teams. You will be responsible for the development and successful execution of topside and detailed financial plans, assortment/buy guide, and merchandise allocation strategies. You will be a key team member in ensuring we are continuously setting the right goals and meeting expectations in order to drive maximum sales and continue to grow the business.
Responsibilities:
Gather and prepare historical data and hindsight analysis to support Pre-Season Planning and perform complete analysis of sales and margin trend
Collaborate with Forecasting team to review system generated forecasts for reasonability and analyzes history to identify sales opportunities and risks
Develop aging/exit strategies at appropriate level of the hierarchy and make recommendations for hierarchy changes
Develops Chain/Class/Season/Monthly Sales and Gross Margin Plans
Collaborates with Planning and Merchant teams to evaluate monthly sales and inventory strategies.
Makes recommendations on price & lifestyle strategies/guidelines in collaboration with Merchants as well as on product flow, size/color and case pack requirements.
Create action plan summaries for overall strategy and work with Merchants and Location Planners to finalize
Collaborate with Location Planning to understand regional impact to the business
Collaborate with New/Non-Comp planning teams to share information that impacts the demand forecast
Responsible for plan updates ensuring alignment to leadership direction and submits for approval
Identify product opportunities/risks and partner with Planning and Merchant teams to align on product and location strategies and plan adjustments
Perform vendor analysis to support assortment recommendations and identify potential opportunities and risks.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in Retail Merchandising, Allocation or Planning.
Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs including expertise in Microsoft Excel, as well as other planning, forecasting and reporting tools.
