Supports use of Evidenced Based Practice and incorporates best practices into daily care routine.CollaborationAssists in creating a positive work environment by mentoring of staff/students and working with team members to develop and facilitate initiatives to strive for positive outcomes in quality and care of patients. Effectively communicates with all team members, physicians, ancillary staff and all customers.Delivery of CareComplies with all policies and procedures, and guides team members with compliance .
Compiles with all safety goals, infection prevention and risk management policies and procedures.Basic UPH Performance CriteriaDemonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
Qualifications:Education:
Must have completed an accredited nursing program and possess a valid nursing license.BSN is preferredExperience:Completion of accredited nursing programLicense(s)/Certification(s):Valid nursing license.Basic Certified Life Support (AHA) prior to hire.Receive NIHSS certification within 90 daysSpecialty certification is encouragedKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Basic computer knowledgeMust be able to meet the competency of unit assigned to and also be able to successfully complete orientationMust legally perform the essential functions of the job in accordance with the nurse practice act.Able to demonstrate the necessary skills and competencies to include medication administration and nursing competenciesMust be able to perform the essentials functions of the job, including ability to communicate effectively. Able to read, write, comprehend and speak English.Other:
