Environmental Planner/Scientist
to work in a technical/field/task project management support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated problem solver with high attention to detail and must be capable of working with minimal direction to solve problems and create technically accurate project deliverables. offices.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform site reconnaissance to observe existing conditions, assess site access, and identify important site features.Conduct research and compile information in a clear and concise manner appropriate for transmitting complex issues to the public.Write professional-quality reports. Prepare professional-quality maps/figures.Perform fieldwork, including some travel and occasional weekend work.Assist with the development of technical scopes of work, subcontractor scopes, and estimating costs for proposal efforts on small- to medium-sized project opportunities.Attend project meetings with clients, regulators, and contractors.Maintain a strong commitment to safety, including following established Haley & Aldrich and client health & safety protocols and procedures.Serve as project task manager, and eventually take on a project manager role.Support marketing and business development activities to develop new clients.Provide technical mentoring to junior staff.SKILLS/EXPERIENCEA Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Planning, or Natural Resources.Minimum 3 years preparing and managing the development of environmental planning (NEPA and HEPA) and permitting (Clean Water Act Section 404 and 401, Stream Channel Alteration, Special Management Area, NPDES, etc.) documents.Experience delivering environmental planning and permitting projects for a variety of agencies.The ability to interact well with internal staff and project teams that will include other consultants, contractors, and clients.A commitment to teamwork, problem-solving, and client service.Experience in managing internal and external project teams.Strong communication, writing, organizational, and project management skills.GIS mapping, data analysis, and data management skills preferred.Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations.Experience delineating wetlands and streams preferred.Experience preparing cost proposals and work plans.About Haley & AldrichHaley & Aldrich is committed to delivering the value our clients need from their capital, operations, and environmental projects. The salary range for this position in
Honolulu, HI and Maui, HI is $80,000 - $90,000 annually . Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions.
