Description: Reporting to the East Division Engineering Manager, this position will be responsible for the design and management of various large capital projects for aggregate processing plants and rail/marine distribution facilities in the East Division. Typical projects will be in the $5M+ range.

Responsibilities And Duties

Responsible for project site safety and environmental complianceOversee and direct the project from initial concept through commissioning and closeoutPrepare project scope, budget, and designs of large EPC capital projects in aggregate processing, process water systems, marine/rail terminals, and civil sitework designAnticipate project issues regarding schedule, budget, and safety and implement appropriate mitigationCommunicate project status, deliverables, and performance to division managementProvide processing knowledge and troubleshooting of existing and proposed plantsEstablish and maintain positive relationships with all contractors. Work to expand the quantity and quality of contractors available for bidding.Direct the work of contractors and plant personnel during construction and commissioning activitiesManage multiple projects simultaneously across the respective area of responsibilityCollaborate with electrical/automation engineering and operations to ensure project successPrepare equipment and general contractor bid packages and provide recommendations on best valueOversee QA/QC inspection on all project equipment, materials, and constructionSupport project commissioning and handover to operationsEnsure all projects are completed within company guidelines and standards

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in mining, civil, or mechanical engineering; or equivalent experience required5+ years’ experience in the aggregate processing, bulk material handling, and construction management fieldPE license and PMP certification preferredExperience with processing systems including the installation and start-up of conveyors, screens, crushers, pumping systems, and material washing systemsExperience with Aggflow, Belt Analyst, AutoCAD, and construction surveyingExperience with Microsoft ProjectAbility to read and understand detailed engineering drawings/designs and provide oversight for concrete installation and steel fabrication and erectionEffective oral and written communication skillsOut of town travel required 25%-50% of time

Physical Requirements

Ability to physically travel to job sites and work in and around construction environmentsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsMust be willing to work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, dust, noise, etc.Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner
