What You’ll Do:
Develop tools and workflows that facilitate exploratory research.Design robust Python APIs to boost research productivity.Collaborate with researchers to implement studies, analytics, and production models for commodities trading.Define and maintain a Python research environment tailored for data-intensive workloads.Create web user interfaces for data exploration and delivery of research results.Build and optimize data and machine learning infrastructure to make trading datasets accessible and useful.Manage production workflows for real-time forecasting, modeling, and analytics in a Linux compute environment.Develop systems for backtesting and systematic trading strategies, deploying them into their production environment.Work with the research infrastructure team to leverage their Linux computer cluster.Collaborate with data management teams to refine data acquisition, storage, and accessibility processes.
What You Bring:
Extensive experience with Python and API design.Proven track record of building and scaling large-scale analysis or machine learning tools.Expertise in modern data technologies (Postgres, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow, dbt).Proficiency in data visualization tools (Plotly, Panel, Dash).Strong understanding of software engineering best practices.Experience with strongly typed or compiled languages (e.g., Java, C++, Go, Rust).Ability to manage complex projects end-to-end, including stakeholder management, requirement gathering, and mentoring junior engineers.
