This role will be located at our Englewood, Colorado facility.Role Overview:Beehive Industries is looking for an energetic and driven Principal Engineer to lead the compressor aero design, analysis, and development of a novel compressor design utilizing new technologies. This role will partner with hardware owners and various cross-functional leadership on a daily basis to develop and deliver of the overall engine performance for customers.Key

Responsibilities:Execute the aerodynamic design, analysis, and evaluation of a centrifugal compressor using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements.Expertise delivering aerodynamic solutions using 1-D, 2-D, and 3-D tools with gas turbines. Experience in evaluating tip leakages, end wall contouring, and designing for secondary flow and cooling features.Lead component and system trades from an aerodynamic perspective. Set test objectives and limits, instrumentation and test data requirements, and test planning to execute component validation.Serve as the aerodynamic design subject matter expert as part of a diverse system design team. Ensure products and sub-systems meet overall requirements from a design perspective. Advocate for component durability while understanding the trade-offs and business decisions necessary to deliver the best overall solution. Coordinate with other analysis engineers and hardware owners to optimize the overall system to meet product requirements.Lead design reviews and coordinate with other disciplines in design, performance, stress and life, additive manufacturing, materials and system analysisProvide timely communications on significant issues or developmentsLead methodologies to develop new technologies to optimize the overall aerodynamic performance of a gas turbine with additive manufacturing. Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design.Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practicesWork with suppliers to procure hardware and resolve producibility and quality issuesDesired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or collegeAt least 12 years of experience in gas turbine component designStrong understanding of design software toolsExperience working with gas turbines for aviation product applications from a mechanical and aero design perspectiveExperience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principlesPassion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capabilityStrong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skillsDemonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skillsProven self-starter and quick learnerIf this sounds like you, please submit an application with your resume.
